The Big three news bits deal with Lulzsec, The Supreme Court and The next big law that could potentially affect video games, SB 978. As we get further into the summer news in the games industry will keep getting harder to find. Untill the explosion that is the fall holiday season. I’ll worry about that when we get there. In the meantime I look into the forum and get your thoughts on sequilitis. Once that is done, I get to review the game I’ve been teasing for a few weeks now. So as many of you have seen on the TV or the internet, a magnitude 8.9 earthquake hit about 80 miles off the coast of Sendai, Japan. Over the following 3 hours about 13 6+ magnitude aftershocks also hit. Sendai was hit by a catastrophic tsunami, Tokyo ground to a halt, lots of chaos. I just wanted to let you all know that I am fine, my wife and the rest of my family and friends in Osaka and Tokyo are all ok. Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and queries via email and twitter.

Hit reality series 2NE1tv LIVE: WORLDWIDE – starring the phenomenal K-pop girl band 2NE1 (pronounced “twenty-one”) – is coming to the U.S. with the new season’s world premiere on Mnet. The leading 24/7 English-language network in the U.S. devoted to Asian pop culture will air the series, which follows the four members of the group as they live together while recording a new record, each Sunday night in primetime, beginning with the world premiere on July 17 at 8pm ET/PT, with an encore presentation the following Saturday (July 23) at 8pm ET/PT. The series will air for a total of ten weeks with over twenty half hour episodes.

For those of you who haven’t heard of them, 2NE1 is a South Korean group that debuted in 2009 with a number of singles and released their first album in 2010. Their songs have consistently hit the top of various music charts and they’ve received Mutizen, Cyworld and Asia Song Festival awards.

Although their name is “2NE1″ it’s not pronounced “To anyone”. According to the group’s members it means “New Evolution of the 21st Century”. Their music style ranges from pop to hip-hip to reggae to electronic dance, so there’s something for everyone.

Activision announced on Tuesday that they will be dissolving the Guitar Hero business unit. This means that the Guitar Hero 2011 game and the DJ Hero 2011 game are no longer in production. They went on and further said that they will continue to support all “Hero” games that have all ready been released. Activision stated that the reason for this unfortunate decision was the declining sale in the music genre over the last two years.

Greetings everyone. In place of an AP show this week I offer this interview of 萩尾 望都 Hagio Moto. We were lucky in that Weltall was able to get an interview with this pioneer of shojo manga. I have undertaken the transcription of the Japanese portion of the conversation, for those interested. The translator that was provided was very good. In addition to translation Ms. Hagio’s answers he also added some extra context as he felt was needed. I only transcribed the questions and the Japanese section of the interview.
